Abstract

Inhibition of Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) Juice on Wound of bacterial infection was studied by using Egyptian and Qassimi grantum types, which is Considered Saudi cultivars. Several granatum juice concentrations of 75, 50, 25, 10 and 5% which were diluted with distilled water or with honey bee and then filtered through bacterial filters, were used in this study. Results indicated that complete inhibition zone of Proteus spp < /em>. and Pseudomonas aerugenosa was obtained with 10% juice dilution of Qassimi granatum type, while partial inhibition zone with Serratia marcescenes bacteria occurred in case of 25% juice dilution of the same granatum juice. Complete inhibition of Proteus spp < /em>. and Salmonella typhimurium was obtained with the juice of granatum 25% dilution. However, partial inhibition of Proteus spp < /em>. and Pseudomonas aerugenosa bacteria occurred with the aforesaid granatum juice dilution. It was noticed that the inhibition effect of granatum juice increased when honey bee was used to dilute the juice of granatum.
